External hard drives come with different amounts of storage space depending on how much additional storage space your computer needs. If the computer needs only a small amount more of storage space, an external hard drive with a small amount of storage space such as the Toshiba which holds 160 gb will hold just enough. If your computer is filled with media and needs a lot more storage space, an external hard drive with more space will hold everything that the computer does not have space for.
