Self Esteem Equals Fulfilled Dreams

Everyone has goals in life; and with today's world turning more and more into a place of "do or die", many people are watching their dreams steamroll right past them. I feel a big reason for this is simply just a lack of self esteem. This article will take a deeper look at the importance of self esteem and how having it is a necessity to can get you where you want to be in life.

When you look up the word self esteem in the dictionary it says "A realistic respect for or favorable impression of oneself, self-respect". Now, that definition seems pretty simple and straight forward, yet so many individuals fail to possess these important characteristics. Having low self esteem can effect so many aspects of one's life in a negative way. It can lead to poor grades in school, a missed job opportunity, not getting the big break you've been waiting for; or even hurt personal relationships or the ability to have friends.

The great thing about self esteem is it is never to late to get some. Having it or not having it could be the difference between your failure and success. You must understand that whatever your goals are no matter how big or how small can be achieved by you. Do not get caught up in competing with others comparing what they're doing and where they're at to your current situation. You can't be afriad to speak your mind, take a step into the uknown or fight for what you believe in. Think about those people who are livig their dream. What kind of attitude do they have, what did they have to go through to get there? You hear it all the time, the fame craved musician who started out by living in his car or barely has enough money to feed his family because he is going after that dream of "making it in the entertainment world". The only person you need to be concerned with is you and your journey to wherever it is you would like to be.

Now I'm not talking about jeopardizing your family relationships or putting yourself in danger. All I am saying is, don't worry about what the critics say, go after those dreams. Self esteem will give you the incredible ability to overlook those that consistently seem like they are downing you in some way. Always remember "those that down you are beneath you". Knowing exactly who you are and being proud of it is the first step in achieving anything in life. Go after those goals, stop at no cost. Don't let those dreams just roll past or fade away because you didn't take that chance, that one opportunity that was given to you. Whether it is a job promotion, that girl you always wanted to ask out, a new career, new hobby, financial freedom or just a change of pace in today's forever changing world; start making those dreams a reality today!
