How almost any art print or poster can be converted into a canvas

By: SearchRank Pros

Canvas transfers offer an affordable and available alternative to an original in fact the process can give a paper print the look of an original by transferring it onto a canvas. The canvas transfer process makes the artwork look like an original painting and this is why they have become so popular.

It is the look of the canvas transfer that really appeals to art buyers. When customers look at the print and see the same print on a canvas transfer they think it is really remarkable. It really brings the art back to the look of the original work.

‘’We really want our customers to know the difference between the types of canvas on offer’’ says Catriona Nason of Arty Prints. There is quite a difference between a Giclée on canvas, a canvas print and a canvas transfer. A Giclée on canvas is created when ink is applied directly to the canvas using a high-resolution ink-jet printer. A canvas print is created when inks are applied directly to the canvas using the offset printing technique.

A canvas transfer, however, is created when the image is literally "lifted" from a paper print. This can be a poster, fine art prints or limited-edition print, and transferred to a canvas substrate. A canvas transfer is distinguished from other prints on canvas by its texture. This is what gives it’s resemblance to an original painting.

The transfer is created through a hot-transfer method, in which the image is lifted off its paper backing using a special laminate and transferred to a canvas substrate with a heat press.

This original look of the art on a canvas transfer, at an affordable price is the biggest reason for its appeal with our customers and art enthusiasts. The cost is a fraction of the cost of many artists' originals and yet the result is absolutely priceless.
